Smile Foundation

Smile Foundation continuously strives to sensitize the privileged mass of the country so that they come forward, take on the social problems of the country as personal challenges and fight them back. And in order to grab their attention, Smile has been developing films on its core areas which are creative, innovative and are a balance of the right content and the right quality.

Smile has forayed into producing films of both kinds – documentary and short; and has been hugely successful in both the genres. The Foundation has also won several awards for its endeavors in both the categories.

Smile has produced 55 short films and 1documentary film since its inception in 2002. And it will continue to explore this medium in future as well to disseminate serious yet interesting social messages.

Films
I am Kalam
This film inspired by former President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The film revolves around the Protagonist, a small boy named Chhotu, and how he dares to achieve his dreams of going to school in spite of all the odds. The film summarizes a fairy tale treatment to the dreams of Chhotu amidst his trials and tribulations. The central plot of the film is in sync with the recently enforced Right to Education (RTE) Act and stands an inspiration for millions of such children in India.
